These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the NatureLog mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App” or “Service”). The Service is provided by NatureLog (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
By creating an account, signing in, or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
NatureLog helps you identify plants, insects, and wildlife from photos, save observations, and track changes over time through personal records and Journeys. Features may include species identification, saved observations, Journey timelines, care reminders, optional care-location settings for localized light and placement guidance, exports, and account sync across devices.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Some features require an account or device permissions such as camera, photo library, notifications, or location while in use when you choose to detect your city for care guidance.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under the age required to consent in your country, you may use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian who accepts these Terms on your behalf.
You represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the right to use the App under applicable law.
You may create an account with email, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In. You agree to:
You may use some features as a guest before creating an account. Guest content may remain on your device until you sign in and sync.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or misused the Service.
You retain ownership of photos, notes, observations, Journeys, and other content you submit through the App (“User Content”). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display User Content only as needed to operate and maintain the Service, including to run identification, generate related information, sync your account, and provide support. This license does not allow us to use your User Content to train public-facing AI models.
You are responsible for User Content you submit and for ensuring you have the rights needed to upload it. We do not publicly display your private records by default.
Species suggestions and related content are generated using automated systems, including AI, and may be incomplete or incorrect. Identification results are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.
Some care guidance, including light and placement suggestions, may be adjusted based on the city you optionally set in the App. Those suggestions are approximate, depend on indoor conditions we cannot see, and may not reflect your exact climate, season, or growing environment.
Do not rely on the App for decisions about health, safety, foraging, pest control, plant toxicity, wildlife handling, conservation compliance, or any professional judgment. Always verify important identifications with qualified sources and use appropriate caution in the field.
The App, including its design, software, branding, and non-user content, is owned by NatureLog or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding except as allowed by normal use of the App.
Species information, illustrations, and reference content in the App may come from third-party or generated sources and remain subject to applicable rights.
The App may integrate third-party services such as Apple, Google, cloud providers, and AI services. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The App may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, network issues, device limitations, or events outside our control.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
You may stop using the App at any time. You may delete your account in Settings, which requires email verification. Account deletion is permanent and removes associated cloud data, subject to limited retention required by law or for security and backup purposes.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for us or other users, or where required by law.
The App and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that identifications or other content will be accurate or complete.
To the extent permitted by law, NatureLog is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App, by email, or by other reasonable means. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms means you accept the changes. The effective date at the top shows when these Terms were last updated.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and NatureLog regarding the App. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
